Charles (Charlie) Duane Anderson

SENECA FALLS - Charles (Charlie) Duane Anderson, of Lake Road, Seneca Falls, NY, died on March 28,2025 at residence. There will be no calling hours. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Spring Brook Cemetery, Seneca Falls. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice or Seneca Falls United Methodist Church. 2 Chapel sT Charlie was born May 22, 1941, in Seneca Falls, NY at the Seneca Falls Hospital, to Charles and Tressa (Wilcox) Anderson. He lived most of his life in Seneca Falls. Charlie attended Seneca Falls Central Schools and Barrington School, a private school. He attended Auburn Community College and Burdett College
where he majored in Business Administration and Marketing. Following college, Charlie joined the United States Army Reserve during the Vietnam War and served as a Specialist for six years. Upon completion of military service, he joined the family business, Sheridan Oil Co., Inc. and worked in sales. Charlie was involved in many community activities during his life including The Boy Scouts of America, where as an adult he was awarded the Order of the Arrow and served as a committee member of Troup 88. He was involved in the Philmont Expedition in 1958 as a young Explorer Scout. During his business career he was a member of the
Finger Lakes Petroleum Dealers Association and served several years as secretary of the Central New York Tire Dealers Association. He was a volunteer for the Seneca County United Way, a member of the Seneca Falls Downtown Retail Council, and a Director of the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce. He was also a Trustee of the Spring Brook Cemetery Association for many years and a lifetime member of the Seneca Falls United Methodist Church. Charlie enjoyed Alpine and Nordic skiing with his family for most of his life, up until his last years where he was a member of the 70+ Ski Club. He was an avid gardener and greatly enjoyed working around his home overlooking Cayuga Lake. Later in his retirement, he pursued his interest in antiques by restoring them and participating in many shows throughout the Northeastern United States. Charlie did research on the Anderson family genealogy, tracing it back
to the pre-Revolutionary War period. Ancestral data shows family
inclusion in the 1776 war for independence.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Annette (Stewart) Anderson whom he married on February 6, 1965. They were blessed with two sons. Chris Anderson and his three children, Lily, Alice and Charles. Scott and Monique (Frappier) Anderson and their children Stella (Garrett) Cunningham, Flynn, Greta, and Sargent. Brother Ron and his wife Kay, along with many nieces and nephews. His family was
the light of his life, and he will be dearly missed.
